Easter is the demonstration of God that life is essentially spiritual and timeless.

Interview with a "Woman with a DREAM."

Sharon, In all the years I have known you now I have often wondered how and why you decided to come up with this idea for the WWWCOF. Other than the fact you are such a loving giving person who also wants to see peace all over the world.

Please fill us in on your insights and thoughts. Am sure we would all love to hear your story.
love, Jami

WWWCOF, the early days ..... okay, where do I start?  A long, long time ago, in the infancy of online exploration -- I believe it was late 2000 or early 2001 I signed up for ICQ and the very first person I ever chatted with was Dottie from Maryland.  We would meet regularly to talk about our families and what was happening in our corner of the globe.  It was not long after meeting Dottie that I met Taz from Indiana and Lois from North Carolina and I could hardly wait to chat with them too.  We would exchange recipes, share gardening tips and so much more!  These three ladies became my friends and an important extension of my family.  I found that I often was telling Lois what Taz had said about something or the latest from Dottie; telling Taz what I had heard from Dottie or Lois or telling Dottie the latest from Taz and Lois.

The internet never ceased to amaze or delight me as I would excitedly go online to see if they were on line.  This was a wonderful exploration of life ... something akin, I suppose, to the "Last Frontier".  Prior to this my "world" was my family, my home in the country and my job.  I never dreamed of making such treasured online friends and the impact they would have on my life.

I thought there must be a better way to share and celebrate things going on in each of our lives so in February, 2001 I came up with the idea of starting a newsletter to share our recipes, gardening tips, humour, etc. and with the full support of my three new friends Issue No. 1 was published March 23rd, 2001; a place for ordinary people to share and care.

Why you ask did I do this?  It is because everyone needs a friend and this is the place to make and be a friend!!!!!!!!!!

Sharon

You  are the one who deserves the "Global Award" this week. (actually for the year) so I jami Erikson hereby nominate Sharon Greene for the week of March 23-30, 2007.

I need a second and also a show of hands to make this unanimous.... with much Love. Jami

Based on Jami's interview, sharon's response and ultimately Jami's Nomination, I am extremely proud to second that nomination.

Please join me to thank Sharon from creating this outstanding online community lovingly called the World Wide Web Circle of Friends.

Just as important,   join me in congratulating sharon on being this week's recipient of the Good Global Citizen Award.  I for one, can certainly not think of anyone more deserving.

She is the essence of the World Wide Web Circle Of Friends Values :  kindness, patience, respect , fun, education, communication, sharing and forgiveness.
